Faced with sanctions, the Kremlin would consider legalizing foreign software piracy

Russia’s The Russian authorities are looking for solutions to deal with the avalanche of economic sanctions imposed as part of the invasion of Ukraine. They are considering legalizing software piracy with a license "from countries supporting the sanctions", according to a report by the Russian business media Kommersant, spotted by Ars Technica. This possibility is already included in the Russian legislative arsenal but has never been implemented. The position of the Russian authorities shows the extent to which national players are dependent on American technology. This problem also exists in France.
