Ercom enhances its Cryptobox solution, thanks to Thinkfree's expertise

Monday 6 October 2025 – Ercom, aThales company, and Thinkfree, South Korea-based software company, part of Hancom, specialized in cloud-based office productivity, today announce a strategic partnership, in order to offer Ercom’s customers an innovative online highly secure collaboration solution. Under this agreement, Thinkfree office will be integrated into the Cryptobox environment, with a comprehensive suite of tools, compatible with Microsoft® Office formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) and Open Document Formats (ODF).

Designed as a competitive alternative to existing offerings, it enables multiple users to simultaneously create, share and edit documents securely, including word processing files, presentations and spreadsheets, with the same fluidity and efficiency as traditional collaborative suites.

This feature promotes real-time working and collaborative editing with internal and external partners, while ensuring a high level of security. It answers the needs of security-sensitive industries such as defence, finance, and public services, seeking performance and productivity, all within Cryptobox’s encrypted storage and protected workspace. Ercom teams manage the global security of the solution.

The two companies have already been working together to strengthen data security. In August 2024, they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to agree on future developments, and this supply agreement represents the first step of that collaboration.

Cryptobox is a collaborative working and file transfer solution that encrypts data from end to end. Documents can then be accessed in complete security from a PC, smartphone or tablet. Cryptobox makes it easier to share, collaborate and exchange end-to-end encrypted documents between colleagues within the same company and with external partners, Cryptobox is operated and hosted on a qualified and sovereign cloud, certified SecNumCloud by the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI)*.
